In the Wind (Big City)

Gorgeous from a view, but the closer you get to the top floor, the less of a view you have.

The big city! That's where the fun is, that's where the money is, that's where the love is. That's what they say.
I'm a city kid, and the one thing I was blessed to learn in the city is to dream big and work hard. Simple virtues, most definitely, but they go a long way. These two statements work like sand and water; you can't dream big and not expect to work hard, and in most situations, you aren't working your hardest unless it's for something you deeply value.
However, there are a few more lessons that come with the territory. The sun doesn't shine every day, it's the city, and just like in the movies, no one cares. Everyone is dreaming big and working hard, it'd be too difficult to show compassion. Things move fast, and people want the cash.
A city has its ups and downs, and the reason I am writing this blog is to express my gratitude for being from a major city, but also admit that I wanted to be from the suburbs. Even though that's what I wanted, it never happened, but from my journey as a photographer and videographer, I've become aware of the many opportunities in the smallest of places. Dream big and work hard anywhere, learn from the city and take it to the burbs, or chill in the burbs and take on the city; either way, if you're dreaming big, you better work hard; if you're working hard, I hope you have big dreams.
