Uber Eats Driver Money Hack!

I've been doing Uber Eats deliveries for four years; at some points it was my full-time job, and at other points it was my side hustle. Currently, it's what I do when I need some extra cash, but whenever I am delivering, I use a few tricks I learned while doing it full-time to get as much money as possible. Today I'll be sharing some of those hacks. And just so you're aware, I was using a vehicle every time, and I delivered only in Chicago; however, some of the hacks may be universal, so feel free to try them wherever you are in the country.

I've had thousand-dollar weeks while driving for Uber, and I've had five hundred-dollar weeks while driving. It's a fluid cycle, sometimes people are ordering and other times you just catch a shorthand. Though the longer you drive, the more patterns you see with the app and the locations around you. For example, you might notice that Mondays are slower than Saturdays, but depending on your area, you might recognize that Monday mornings are busier than any other morning throughout your week. However, you can't tell this from one week and sometimes not even two weeks, which leads to my first hack, and it pertains to new drivers or anyone jumping back in, and that is to stay consistent.

Stay Consistent

Yes, you choose your hours for Uber, and you're your boss, but Uber is a job, and like any job, it takes time to learn the atmosphere. You won't be able to master any hacks unless you understand the app, the restaurants, and the ordering patterns. Don't misunderstand, though, you can just jump in with no game plan and make some money, but what most people want is the most money, and staying consistent will do that. When you consistently do Uber, the better you understand how to navigate to the money, even if you are just doing three days a week, you want to pick the best three days possible, so first, you'd have to spend at least one full week testing the waters. Then, when you pick your days, you need the hours that work for you, and the hours when you can make the most money. Which leads to the next topic, follow the Earnings Tab.

Follow the Earnings Tab

Ok, these first two suggestions might seem obvious to the longtime drivers, so bear with me. For those who are not familiar, I'll reiterate: follow the Earnings tab! This tab allows you to see at what times areas near you are the most lucrative, enabling you to plan a route for the day or determine where you'd like to start your first trip and get right into the action.

Learn your Spots

This next tip can help you always start in a good position. When I was doing Uber in the Chicagoland area, I had about three spots I always started at. The reason is that I knew at either of those spots, I was bound to start with a good order, and that would gather the momentum I needed for the rest of the day.

Holidays, Events, and Rain

The best time to maximize the money you can make delivering with Uber are the days no one wants to drive and everyone wants to order. On holidays or near holidays, orders increase because of a number of factors, but on these days, not everyone wants to drive, and there are plenty who need to eat. During special events, like Lollapalooza, people don't want to leave their houses, and especially in bad weather, no one wants to drive, and everyone wants their food delivered.

There are plenty of tricks you can learn to maximize the profit you make delivering food for Uber Eats. One thing I recommend is to get to driving. Waiting won't do anything, and while you learn your tricks, you can make some money doing so. More tips will be available soon. Subscribe to stay in the loop.
